There’s a chance that your iPhone is OK – you just need to know what’s causing it not to turn on. You can try our tips on how you can fix an iPhone that won’t turn on.
Tips to Fix an iPhone That Won’t Power On
If your iPhone refuses to turn on, try these quick fixes before bringing your device to a cell phone repair center:
Charge your iPhone.
You may have drained your battery; this is one common issue with most phone users. Phones are used until the battery gets drained. Phones are then charged only to find out that they won’t turn on; this can also be your case. If you drained your iPhone’s battery, it might take a while for the phone to show an indicator that it is charging – much more to turn on. To check if this is your case, plug in your iPhone and charge it for an hour before attempting to turn it on again and if not be successful then there is a problem why you’re iPhone wont turn on or charge.
Note: If you are using a computer’s USB port to charge, try to charge with a charger instead to rule out any issues with the computer’s USB port.
Check your charger.
Is your charger still working? If you’ve tried step 1 but still your iPhone won’t turn on, try using another charger. You don’t have to buy a new one. You can borrow from a friend who has a working charger to try if your iPhone would charge using the borrowed one. Plug in your iPhone and let it charge for an hour. If your device turns on, then you may need to get a replacement charger and if don’t, you need an expert to fix a phone that wont turn on.
Check if you have plugged in properly.
There three things that you need to check here. First, check if your charger is plugged in securely into your power outlet. Next, check if the connector is properly plugged into your iPhone charging port. Lastly, check if the USB connector is properly plugged into the charger. If one of these points of contacts has a slight disconnection, then you may not be able to charge your phone properly.
Do you have a power supply?
The question may be a no-brainer, but a mind that’s subject to stress and worries may not be able to consider checking on the power supply. We have lots of people asking for help that their iPhone won’t charge only to inform us later that everything’s fine – except their power supply.
Check your Power button.
Your iPhone may be OK, but your Power button may be the one not functioning. Though a defective Power button may need to be repaired at a cell phone repair shop, there is still a way to turn on your iPhone without the power button. To check if your Power button is causing the issue, plug in your iPhone to a USB cable and wait for a few minutes. If your iPhone is OK, the device should turn on and power up in a few minutes.
Your ports may be dirty.
All of the tips above require your phone to be connected via the charging port. If your ports (iPhone charging port, USB port, charger port) are dirty, then there is a chance that you may not be able to charge your phone properly. Debris will clog your ports and may inhibit connection and electrical flow. Make sure that your ports are free from dirt and debris and try the tips again.
If you’ve tried and checked all the tips above but your phone still refuses to turn on, then your iPhone may need to get checked in cellphone repair experts. The idea that your iPhone needs repair may not be good news for you, but as long as you get an iPhone repair from a competent cell phone repair shop, there’s a high chance that you can get your iPhone back to normal in no time.
