Khoudia Diop – a.k.a.

Khoudia Diop, also known as the “Melanin Goddess,” is a Senegalese model, social media star, and makeup artist with enviable skin. She is currently participating in an important new makeup movement and promotional platform. Diop is the new face of Make Up For Evers #BlendInStandOut campaign, showcasing her natural curly hair and flawless skin (not to mention the best highlight weve ever seen). The campaign features a series of influencers, all goddesses in their own right, answering the question, “What do you represent?” We cant imagine a better role model to lead this charge.
Multi-brand campaigns and promotions are just as important as empowerment, as they involve brands promoting a wide range of flawless #nomakeup makeup skin tones. For Diop, the platform is an opportunity to stand up against bullying. Her deep skin tone as a model wasnt always a proud symbol, and she was bullied for it. “People made comments calling me midnight or mother of stars,” she told Refinery29. “At first, I encountered bullies, but eventually I learned to eliminate negativity and love myself more.”
The Colored Girl creative agency (Diops representatives) supports inclusive movements that celebrate having a full range of skin tones – whether youre fair, rich in melanin, or somewhere in between the endless shades. “The modeling industry has made some progress, but theres definitely room for improvement,” Diop said. “I hope it can openly accept more women of color and give them as much shine as other women.” Her latest campaign is definitely a step in that direction.
